Hands-On Mechanical Engineer

Wareham, MA. July 2015

Product development and manufacturing experience across regulated medical devices and field hardware, with a focus on reliability, ownership, and long-term impact.

I work across the full lifecycle of physical hardware, from development and manufacturing through validation and sustaining.

My background in high-volume medical device design and production is complemented by hands-on marine and field work outside of my professional roles.

What Motivates Me

I’ve always been curious about how things work and drawn to making and fixing things. As a kid, that meant taking things apart (and putting them back together), asking too many questions, and spending hours outside exploring, building, and flipping over rocks to see what was underneath. I was as interested in tools and construction as I was in the natural world around me.

That curiosity followed me into school and eventually into my career. Mechanical engineering felt like a natural fit, combining problem-solving, hands-on work, and the satisfaction of building something real and practical. At the same time, my love for the outdoors and the ocean led me to minor in Environmental Science, with the hope of applying engineering skills toward work with a positive impact.

Outside of work, you’ll usually fine me boating, fishing, surfing, snowboarding, and generally staying outdoors. I also volunteer as an aquarist and educator at Save the Bay Aquarium, where I help care for marine life, teach visitors about local ecosystems, and design fixtures that support daily operations.

Together, these experiences shape what motivates me professionally: understanding how things truly work, taking responsibility for how they perform over time, and contributing reliable work that makes a meaningful difference.
